ayon
PreDeployment
1. In Quality Centre V9.2 Site Admin
a. Create a new DB Server that points to your Version 10 Database Server - i.e. the connection string points to the server where your Version 10 database resides
b. Create a new Domain that will be used to transisition your projects between the two versions
2. In Quality Centre V10 Site Admin a. Create a new DB Server ( on your Version 10 box ) that has EXACTLY the same name as the one you created in Version 9.2 ( step 1a )
b. Create a new Domain that will be used to transisition your projects between the two versions
3. On your Version 10 Apps Server - in Windows Explorer map the repository directory from Version 9.2. This is necessary to be able to find the dbid.xml file for the projects in the transition Domain
Steps:
1. In Quality Centre V9.2 Site Admin
a. Copy a Project into the transisition Domain. Select the DB Server that points to the Version 10 DB - as created above
b. When the copy is complete remove the Project from the Domain - do not delete
2. In Quality Centre V10 Site Admin
a. Create the Project by clicking on the Restore Project option and then select the relevant dbid.xml file from the VersionĀ 9.2 repository.
b. Verify, Repair, and Upgrade the Project
c. Copy the Project from the transition Domain to a 'proper' Version 10 Domain. This is necessary to move the repository off the Version 9.2 server and onto the Verison 10 server
d. Delete the transition Project
If possible it is better to perform all tasks directly on the App Servers of the two versions.
Once all copies has been completed then there are clean up tasks. Folders in the qc repository on both Versions as well as the Upgrade logs on the Version 10 serve.
